Extract from the discussion with my close friend.
“Everyone around me look very happy about everything that is happening in their life. No matter, he is a beggar or an owner of Audi car. Except me, everyone looks happy. Why can’t I be like that?”
My closest and dearest friend is about to lose his job as result of ramp down of his project. I am sure he was not selected to get ‘fired’ but ‘pointed out’. He is very hard working guy and able to make things working up. The problem is he is not an intelligent cool donkey to escape the work and do magic before manager but a work-donkey who is ‘Yes Boss’ type. Of course, he gives away credit to cool donkeys always. His boss realized the biggest good thing of team work – allows to blame someone – he blamed my friend. As usual – ‘Yes Boss’. He could not dare much to fight against. He necked down his thoughts and was made to accept to get fired.
On the day he got ‘firing’ mail, he started looking for jobs. He took out his big bag of .Net books and some XML stuffed books and cleared all the dust and started reading. He booted his Pentium-4 machine too. The fastest machine – in our engineering times. If he goes to Africa, he can sell that for $10000. I entered his room, he looked like an ayurvedic pandit who is churning out for particular formulae, soon I realized the books lying on the ground are some ASP.NET books. I asked him “Wassup? Any stories of day-happennings?” He told me very coolly with a f***ing regret on his face – “I am fired”.
He explained me everything. What interested me in the explanation was the behavior of his manager, I hated his regret for what he is not actual ‘protagonist’. I do think deep about people’s mentality. I really get bounced every time with the outcomes of the mentality of the people around me. For example – my room mates. Theory of relativity is easier to study than the mentality of people around us. One thing that I did not understand is… why the hell my friend was regretting for the happening. I could not understand whether he was sorry for losing the job or the unrealistic mistakes pointed out by his manager. Whatever, that did not make any interest but the manager’s mentality.
The days are flipping by. He is going to lose his job in couple of days. He started looking pale. He started blaming himself and his life. He started getting tensed. Wow! The fate always shows its foot prints everywhere and on everyone – whether it is living thing or not. The fu**ing fate.
In a low voice he told me, “Everyone around me look very happy about everything that is happening in their life. No matter, he is a beggar or an owner of Audi car. Except me, everyone looks happy. Why can’t I be like that? Even the lizard on the wall seems to be happy. What is this life ra?”
Poor fellow, he doesn’t know that, everyone think same of others.
Nice blog buddy…
In all possible means, Life (or fate) has its impact on anyone. Everyone must agree that. Your friend also knows that I think, Chandu. But if you share your sorrows with others it gives you relief and shows one support.
One thing here, I want to tell, if you dont have sorrows in life and only sukhams
life will not be good and tastier. Uppu, kaaram annee undaali. Appude ruchi gaa untundi. Life ainaa, bhojanam ainaa.
Good writing.

I agree with you Kaveri.
Thanks Jagadish
I really really feel pity for your friend’s miserable condition. I have a mixed feeling of why your friend did not fight against the happenings around him and also in this highly competitive world not just hard work alone required to get fame but also requires smart work and in other side i feel your friend is too sensitive to fight against the situation.
At the same time, I am getting too much angry on manager for not analyzing the efforts taken by your friend so far and simply allowing to blame someone. Want to give pattttttt… slap on his face.
Then, I like the way you presented this incident. Starting and ending line is absolutely cohesive. It goes in a cyclic manner. I like this line especially, “he looked like an ayurvedic pandit who is churning out for particular formulae”. Superb comparison.
