Relationships are fragile. The reason why we often hurt more the ones who love us most is because we do not realize this. We take for granted the people who are always there for us and we care not to be as careful with their feelings as we are with people we hardly know. A careless word. A negligent irrespectful act. We often think we can get away with anything when we are with the people who love us.
While it is true that they will extend to us their utmost understanding, it is also true that they are but human beings after all. They get hurt. And they get hurt the most by the people they love the most.
Relationships are fragile. It is far easier to protect it and to take care of it rather than to mend it when it is already broken into a million shattered parts.
Must we spend our precious time trying to gather the broken pieces? Or should we rather spend our moments checking our tongues, saying words of encouragement, holding the hands of the people who truly matter to us? Relationships are fragile. They are gifts to be cherished and protected and taken care of as much as we take care of our own hearts.

As mentioned, a split in a relationship can result from a loss of trust with your lover. When you commit yourself to a person, you automatically put your faith in that person. You wouldn’t have committed yourself had you not loved the person from the start. The trust you give a person encompasses faith, love, and security. You trust that your partner will remain true to you, and will love you wholeheartedly. But sometimes, out of recklessness, or stupidity, trust is broken by the one person you have willingly given it to.
Love dies when trust is broken. Most times, when that trust is irreparably damaged, and the love you once shared is gone, you don’t want to be in the relationship anymore. It’s only natural, the security and safety you once had in the union with your partner is no longer there.
Another reason for relationship breakups is increasing incompatibility. When you start a relationship with someone, it’s because you have at least one major factor in common with that other person. But sometimes, at a certain point, you, or the other person in your relationship, will realize it’s just not right anymore. Things just aren’t the way they were before, and if that compatibility isn’t there anymore, the relationship may wither and die. Sometimes, as relationships mature, they become comfortable. And, as the saying goes; “comfort often breeds contempt”.
Contempt, or hatred, probably aren’t the right words! More aptly put, it’s boredom, or ‘sameness’ that often sets into a long-term relationship. When you’re in this unwanted situation, you find yourself having difficulty handling your day-to-day relationship with any real passion. You, or your partner may want out of the relationship because it’s lost it’s excitement or vitality. If your relationship doesn’t match your needs, or those of your significant other, then that’s usually when your relationship will start to turn bad.
Probably the biggest or most common reason for relationship breakups is when you, or your partner, fall out of love with one another. Sometimes, even if things seem to always be right, when love vanishes, relationships have to end.
Love is most likely the reason two people got into a relationship to begin with, but the loss of it also is the reason why many couples drift apart. You may certainly feel so in love with your partner right now that this will never happen, but there may come a time in your relationship when love disappears for whatever reason. It might be the result of a combination of what has been mentioned above, growing incompatibility or loss of trust, or something completely different. Who knows? Who can say?
It’s just an unfortunate fact of life, but people fall in and out of love every day. When love leaves, is there any reason to for you or your partner to stay together? Only you can answer that question. It is love that put you together, but, most of the time, it will be the lack of love that causes relationship breakups.
The best of the best line raw this one is,
“We often think we can get away with anything when we are with the people who love us.”
Nice one!
